Executive Director of R&D

HIRE-IQ.net has been asked to find a full-time Executive Director of R&D for a well-established company that formulates and manufactures pharmaceutical products in Minneapolis, MN. The R&D and development work could either be in new products or in new delivery systems. The 10-person team that this person will be leading is well-versed in a variety of delivery systems and pharmaceutical forms, but needs direction and some additional expertise specifically in the area of oral solids (tablets, capsules).

Ideal Candidate:

PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences/Life Sciences and 10+ years or Master's in those areas with 15+ years of post-academic, industry experience
Must have demonstrated expertise in oral solids (tablets, capsules) product development and, even more specifically, in more complex oral solids like modified release products; formulations experience would be a huge plus
Need to have leadership experience, ideally over a smaller team of 3-10 people
Strategic business experience related to portfolio selection, due diligence and business planning

Compensation: $175,000 - $225,000 (Dependent on Experience)
